As unemployment rates rise to levels not seen in decades and our nation faces one of the worst economic disasters in its history, one new company pledges to finance the rescue and creation of thousands of jobs across the country. “The EconoDude.com mission is one of hope and integrity for everyone,” says EconoDude founder, Kurt Turrell. “We cannot rely completely on government or a stimulus package to fix our economy and get people back to work.” According to Turrell, it is the responsibility of every person to help. “I heard this news story about a school in Maine that had to cut several jobs due to lack of funds. Everyone on the staff of the school donated one day’s wage and they rescued those cut jobs,” adds Mr. Turrell. Turrell modeled EconoDude with that philanthropic cause at its heart.
The brilliant concept of Econodude.com asks everyone who is gainfully employed to pledge one day’s wages – or whatever can be afforded – to rescue and create new jobs nationwide for both skilled and unskilled workers. According to the EconoDude.com website, 85% of all funds are used to directly create new jobs in not-for-profit organizations such as schools, fire and police departments, mass transit, public works, and many other non-profit agencies that directly contribute to the communities of America. “It is our patriotic duty to our fellow citizens and our country to pull together in this difficult time,” claims Mr. Turrell. “Everyone who is employed spends at least one day’s worth of pay in a year on entertainment, or a leisure activity, so why not help out?”
The website shows that Econodude.com uses airtight contract agreements for the distribution of funds to create new jobs, while the remaining 15% of all pledges allows EconoDude to operate. So, how does this business make a profit and why should people trust EconoDude? EconoDude plans to make a profit from select client advertising on the website. “EconoDude believes that integrity is not merely something claimed when it’s convenient. No, integrity is practiced each and every minute of every day in the untarnished spirit of goodness, humanitarianism, and sheer decency,” Mr. Turrell exclaims.
